“Robin with a worm in its mouth”

Iowa’s spring hasn’t exactly been conducive to planting this year. Our Gazette outdoor editor, Orlan Love, noted that he has nothing planted so far. “I can’t remember a spring when I did not have something planted by now,” he said. “I have not even seen a robin with a worm in its mouth yet.”

How about the rest of you – has this been the latest year for planting in Eastern Iowa? How much longer will it be before any gardening can be done?
